I can’t call myself a Founder and take myself seriously, but I’ve spent the last few years building something I’m really proud of.
Over the years, I’ve built a team and taken on embedded in-house projects, helping scale People & Talent teams globally for companies like Deliveroo, Checkout.com, Personio, Adyen, Miro, Spendesk, TravelPerk, Typeform, Andela, Doctolib, and Beat (part of FreeNow).
The more complex the project, the more excited I am to take it on. I love working with companies that have a high hiring bar, where quality matters more than just speed or transactional recruiting.
While People & Talent is our niche, we’ve also taken on searches outside of it when the client is great to work with. If I believe in their mission and know I can add value, I'm happy to help.

I’ve been recruiting for 20 years, with the last decade focused exclusively on HR. That focus led to the creation of Gavin Tonks HR Staffing, which quickly became one of Ireland’s most trusted HR recruitment brands. In 2025, I reconnected with Mark Shortall and merged the business into Re:work to build something even stronger together.
Over the past decade, I’ve developed deep expertise in HR recruitment across Ireland - partnering with over 1,000 companies and leading everything from confidential leadership searches to full HR team builds.
Today, I still focus solely on building HR and People functions across Dublin and the wider Irish market. From early-career hires to C-suite, I work at pace, value transparency, and never rely on a hard sell. It’s the model I built my brand on, and exactly what I bring to every search.

I’ve been recruiting since 2019, in both agency and in-house roles. Before joining Re:work, I looked after recruitment for one of Ireland’s best-known luxury brands, focusing on hiring across corporate teams. It was fast-paced, hands-on, and gave me a proper understanding of what makes hiring actually work, from stakeholder management to refining processes and making sure the candidate experience felt right.
